SISMA Membership
The South Dakota Invasive Species Management Association was formed with the intent of a progressive endeavor to assembly together a group with a common vision and unity to address all of South Dakotas invasive species management challenges. Association membership is open and all-encompassing to everyone, and is broken into twelve broadly established categories of membership. We hope to appeal to private landowners, county commissioners and state legislators, county weed & pest boards/supervisors, federal and state agencies, universities, industry and commercial applicators, non-government organizations, and the public at large.

STAKEHOLDERS BYLAWS
5.1 STAKEHOLDERS: stakeholders shall be open to anyone that has an interest in the management of invasive species in the state of South Dakota. Membership is granted once the current annual dues have been paid in full to the association. A paid in full member is considered a voting member of the association. Stakeholders will be placed in one of the following (11) categories:
Commercial Applicator Trade
County Entity
County Weed & Pest Board Member
County Weed & Pest Supervisor
Federal Entity
Industry
Legislature
Non-Governmental Organization
Private Entity
State Entity
University
5.2 VOTING: Voting shall be cast on a ballet for board
members and executive officers all other votes shall be at the Presidents
discretion.
5.3 ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE OFFIECERS: Executive officers will be voted in from the eleven
(11) member categories ballet count, all stakeholders will cast ballet in their particular
category. A winner will be determined from each category; the winner will be the candidate
that carries the majority of the categories.
5.4 ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS: One ballet will be issued to each member. Ballets will be
counted according to category. Only stakeholders of a particular category can only vote
for the board member candidates for that particular category.
5.5 DUES: Dues shall be set at $50 per individual and $250 for group memberships, and can
be changed by the board of directors. A group membership shall allow up to ten
stakeholders from a single entity, but the entity shall be limited to only 5 votes.
Stakeholders dues shall become due January 31st of each year. Stakeholders will be
billed by January 1st of each year. Group Membership?
5.6 SUSPENSION OF STAKEHOLDERS: Stakeholders shall be suspended from the Association for
non-payment of dues. All stakeholders suspended for non-payment of dues will be reinstated
to full stakeholders upon payment of current annual dues.
